The agenda has been posted for the upcoming Richmond Hill Council Meeting on June 10th.
Items of interest include:
The Urban Forest Management Plan builds on existing processes and defines an overarching vision and comprehensive approach for managing our urban forest.
The purpose of this staff report is to provide Council with the 2019 Greening the Hill Report, an annual progress update on implementation of Richmond Hill’s Environment Strategy
Member Motion by Councillor West to further strengthen our commitment to provide public education, and take action to create a healthy environment for Monarch Butterflies and other pollinating insect species, that August 22, 2020 will be proclaimed Flight of the Monarch Day in Richmond Hill.
12.4 Age Friendly Communities Report
At the June 25, 2019 meeting, Council approved a motion brought forth by Councillor Chan, directing staff to look into the feasibility of developing the Age Friendly Community Strategy in Richmond Hill and report back to Council with the steps necessary to establish a Seniors Advisory Committee.
The original motion was amended to add that the report include an overview of the services already provided by Richmond Hill to Seniors and an overview of any complaints received related to the provision of services to seniors.
The attachments below show that the designation of an age-friendly city goes well beyond the Adults 55+ Recreational Programming Strategy that Richmond Hill currently has in place.
