Residents have one more opportunity to convince Council to change their decision about Council meeting times and the elimination of COW meetings. At the December 4th COW meeting agenda is a motion to approve the 2020 Council meeting schedule. (Agenda Item 11.20)
A majority of council had voted Nov. 20 to hold council meetings at 9:30 a.m. on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month and eliminate all committee of the whole (COW) meetings effective in January for the rest of the 2018-2022 term.
Let Council know that Richmond Hill residents insist the Council meetings to be held in the evenings and that the Committee of the Whole meetings to be reinstated.
Call to Action! If you agree with the statement above please send an email or go and as a delegation.

Subject line for an Email: Addition to the Agenda, Item 11.20, COW-Wed Dec 4, 2019
Background
Many residents protested against the 9:30am meeting times because it does not allow for residents who work to attend.
The elimination of the COW meetings was unexpectedly amended in the original motion at the Nov 20th meeting. COW meetings are important to have an opportunity for council members and city staff to hash out the details and receive public input before coming to the final decisions at the council meetings.
