No $$ for new firefighters in the 2020 Operating Budget!

At the February 12th Council meeting the majority of Council (Councillors DiPaola, Perrelli, Muench, Beros, Liu) adopted the motion to cut the previously approved 4 firefighter positions from the 2020 budget.

An additional fire truck was recently approved in the capital budget however there is not enough personnel to staff this new truck. Apparently this truck could be put in service if 6 or more new firefighters were hired.
