This Public Meeting is to accept comments concerning a municipality initiated Official Plan Amendment that will update the Official Plan with the City’s 2041 Planning Vision and City Structure.
Draft Official Plan Amendment (OPA) 18.3 regarding City Vision and City Structure
The purpose of this report is to provide Council and the public with an overview of OPA
18.3. This amendment incorporates the City’s planning vision for the next 20 years and
it sets the framework for more detailed policy changes in subsequent OPAs in 2023.
This report has been structured for information purposes only, with a recommendation
that all comments be referred back to staff for consideration.
The purpose of this report is to provide Council and the public with an overview of OPA
18.4. The amendment incorporates proposed modifications to the City’s 2010 Official
Plan to expand opportunities for missing-middle housing (“gentle density”), and to
facilitate the creation of “15-minute” communities across the City’s settlement areas.
Accordingly, this report has been structured for information purposes only, with a
recommendation that all comments be referred back to staff for consideration.
How You Can Participate in Council Meetings
The public can observe meetings of Council and Committees by attending in-person or by viewing the livestream of the open session part of these meetings.
Public Comments: The public may submit written correspondence regarding agenda items by email to clerks@richmondhill.ca. Written correspondence must be submitted by 12 p.m. on the day of the meeting.
Delegations: No prior registration is required to make an in-person Delegation, but is encouraged. Prior registration is required should the public intend to make an electronic delegation by video conference or telephone. Applications to appear as a delegation must be submitted by 12 p.m. on the day of the meeting can be submitted by email to clerks@richmondhill.ca or by using the on-line application form. The Office of the Clerk will provide instructions on appearing as a delegation.
