A productive and quick meeting with Zero Points of Order! They must have read the CAG Point of Order post.


Presentation from Michelle Hambly, Executive Director, and Andy Langer, Board Member, Hill House Hospice, regarding Hill House Hospice Expansion Plans

  • Hill House Hospice is looking to expand the current hospice from a 3 bed to a 10-12 bed facility.

  • Launching a $13Million Community Fundraising Campaign

  • Asking City to provide a long term lease at 36 Wright Street

  • Work with staff to identify any development constraints

  • Staff to report back to Council by the end of the year

Voting In Favour – West, DiPaola, Perrelli, Beros, Liu, Sheppard, Cilevitz, Chan

Voting Against – Muench (Didn't think the "ask" met the needs of the community in the long term)


Municipal Streetscape Partnership Program - Yonge Street and Garden Avenue Gateway Lighting Feature

  • Staff directed to open a competition to Richmond Hill residents to design the feature

Amended Motion passed Unanimously

Memorandum from Kelvin Kwan, Commissioner of Planning and infrastructure, dated May 20, 2022, regarding Richmond Hill City Council Motion of May 11, 2022

  • Motion as shown below passed

Voting in Favour: West, Perrelli, Beros, Muench, Liu, Chan

Voting Against: DiPaola, Sheppard, Cilevitz (did not feel it addressed affordable housing and also set a height precedent for an area that is not a MTSA or has the transit in place)

Age-Friendly Community Needs Assessment

  • That the Recreation and Culture Division be directed to recruit for the initial membership of the Age-Friendly Community Council to begin their term the 2022 Municipal Election.

Motion passed Unanimously

Council endorse the public consultation process outlined in staff report to obtain feedback with regards to an ultimate design of the Yonge Street and Garden Avenue Gateway Lighting Feature

Age-Friendly Community Needs Assessment

That the Recreation and Culture Division be directed to recruit for the initial membership of the Age-Friendly Community Council to begin their term the 2022 Municipal Election.

Final Levy By-law and Tax Rates

That the billing and collection of taxes, special assessments, defaulted fines and fees including the tax installment due dates for residential and non-residential properties be authorized.


How You Can Participate in Council Meetings

The public can observe meetings of Council and Committees by attending in-person or by viewing the livestream of the open session part of these meetings.


Public Comments: The public may submit written correspondence regarding agenda items by email to clerks@richmondhill.ca. Written correspondence must be submitted by 12 p.m. (noon) on the day before the meeting.


Delegations: Any person who wishes to speak to Council on agenda items must pre-register with the Office of the Clerk by 12 p.m. (noon) the day before the meeting. Applications to appear as a delegation can be submitted by email to clerks@richmondhill.ca or by using the on-line application form. Delegations can be in person, or electronically by video conference or telephone. The Office of the Clerk will provide instructions on appearing as a delegation.


Public Forum: Any person who wishes to speak to Council on a matter not on the agenda must pre-register with the Office of the Clerk by 12 p.m. (noon) the day before the meeting. Persons wanting to address Council during the Public Forum portion of the meeting must register by sending an email to clerks@richmondhill.ca or by using the on-line form. Public Forum participation can be in-person, or electronically by video conference or telephone. A maximum of five persons will be allowed to register for the Public Forum on a first come first serve basis.
