Another excruciating 5 hour Richmond Hill Council Meeting marathon.

  • Options to fill the Vacancy in the Office of Mayor - Referred back to staff

  • To report back at a special council meeting next week on options and costs for the City to consult the public

  • Options at this point are either a by-election or the appointment of a current member of council

  • Permanently Eliminating the Green/Blue Bin Replacement Fee - Motion passed albeit Perrelli voted against his own motion and it wasn't clear why

  • Households who paid the exchange fee between now and June 22, 2021 will receive refunds limited to a maximum of 2 bins

  • Due to COVID restrictions there were no bin exchanges between Jan 1, 2021 and June 21, 2021.

  • Request for Approval - Sanaz Sharifi c/o Lulu Holdings Inc. - 227 Harding Boulevard West (at Major Mackenzie W) - Referred back to staff

Member Motion - Regional and Local Councillor Perrelli - Permanently Eliminating the Green/Blue Bin Replacement Fee

  • As advertised far and wide this motion is to remove the Green/Blue Bin Replacement Fee ($8.45)

  • Note it was Councillor David West who initially brought forth the motion to eliminate the bin exchange fee on November 10, 2020 however the majority of council including Perrelli voted against doing so.

Public Forum will be by video conference via the internet or telephone only. A maximum of five persons will be allowed to register for the Public Forum on a first come first serve basis.
