Richmond Hill Council Meeting Wednesday March 10th at 2pm

UPDATE

At the March 10th Meeting the motion to amend the existing naming rights policy passed with an amendment by Acting Mayor Joe DiPaola which essentially stated that the Richmond Hill Public Board would have to obtain Council's final approval for the naming for the interiors and exteriors of the libraries.

DiPaola said that since libraries are public buildings that Council should give final approval. The original motion stated that the Library Board would decide and give final approval for naming the libraries.

An Amendment to the Existing Naming Rights Policy

The purpose of this report is to request approval for an amendment to the existing Naming Rights Policy, originally approved by Council June 13, 2017.

The proposed changes are being made to better enable the execution of Naming Rights as a key initiative that is part of the City’s revenue generation strategic imperative.

Additionally, this report recommends that Council delegates the Richmond Hill Public Library Board to create a similar policy on criteria and approval processes that will enable city libraries to be part of this initiative.
